James Zier was raised in the Houston metropolitan area and is a native Texan. He attended Texas State University where he graduated in three years with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Economics, magna cum laude. While at Texas State University, Mr. Zier received the Academic Excellence Award and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.

After graduating from Texas State University, Mr. Zier attended South Texas College of Law where he received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and was on the Dean’s List.

With over 25 years of experience in both transactional and litigation matters, Mr. Zier brings a comprehensive legal background that spans private practice, public service, and international work. He has represented a wide range of clients—from global corporations, banks, and insurance companies to small and mid-sized businesses and individuals. His litigation experience includes both prosecution and defense in criminal matters, as well as representing plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases. This diverse experience enables him to deliver strategic, effective, and tailored solutions to meet his clients’ legal needs.

In addition to serving clients in Pearland, Mr. Zier has represented individuals and businesses in Houston, across Texas, throughout the United States, and in over a dozen foreign countries. With the ability to handle everything electronically, a client's physical location is never a barrier to exceptional legal representation.

Mr. Zier takes pride in fighting for the rights of seriously injured people and those that have lost a loved one due to the negligence of others. James Zier recalls when asked why he became a lawyer, “Growing up, I didn’t know any lawyers. I thought lawyers wore suits and worked in tall buildings, but I didn’t really understand what they did. It wasn’t until I was older that I discovered that some lawyers help the little guy stand up to the big guy. That’s when I knew I wanted to become a lawyer."
